The Brits broke rank with W and the White House today criticising the actions taken by Israel over the past weeks in Lebanon. They also told the US to 'understand' the price being paid by ordinary Lebanese civilians.
"The destruction of the infrastructure, the death of so many children and so many people. These have not been surgical strikes. If they are chasing Hizbollah, then go for Hizbollah. You don't go for the entire Lebanese nation.
''I very much hope that the Americans understand what's happening to Lebanon," said Foreign Office Minister, Kim Howells.
All I can say is, yay Labour. Yay Brits! Hopefully, this 'Love Actually' moment will teach the US government a thing or two about the actions of the Israeli military. And hopefully that will bring some sort of peace and resolution to the situation. Because the longer Israel continues to undertake these actions, the less sympathy I feel for the Israeli cause... and let me tell you, there isn't much sympathy left.
